US v. Griffin, 05-50299

An order requiring delivery to the government of redacted letters written by defendant to his wife, who was also his attorney, while defendant was incarcerated is affirmed where: 1) the order was immediately appealable under either the collateral order doctrine or the Perlman rule; and 2) under the circumstances, defendant could not claim the marital communications privilege as to certain letters.
