United States Ninth Circuit
US v. GEMENTERA, 03-10103
A supervised release condition that required a convicted mail thief to spend a day standing outside a post office wearing a signboard stating, "I stole mail. This is my punishment," is found to be legal as it does not exceed the bounds of "civilized standards" of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society.
