United States Ninth Circuit

KHATCHATRIAN v. CONTINENTAL CAS. CO., 02-55916

Under California insurance law, an "accidental" death must occur from external rather than natural causes, thus an insured's death from a stroke was not an "accident" within the meaning of an accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.
