BRYANT v. ADVENTIST HEALTH SYS./W., 00-16399

A hospital cannot be held liable under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), if it negligently fails to detect or mis-diagnoses an emergency medical condition; the EMTALA generally ceases to apply once a hospital admits an individual for inpatient care.
