United States Eighth Circuit

US v. Alvarado, 09-2988

Defendants' convictions and sentences for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and conspiracy to commit money laundering are affirmed where 1) the district court did not abuse its discretion when it denied defendant's motion to withdraw his guilty plea; 2) the district court did not clearly err in finding defendant's conduct amounted to obstruction of justice under U.S.S.G. section 3C1.1; and 3) the district court's finding that defendant obstructed justice under the facts of this case precluded safety valve relief.
