United States Eighth Circuit
McCullough v. Univ. of Arkansas for Med. Sci., 08-1353
In an employment discrimination action, district court's grant of defendant's motion for summary judgment is affirmed where: 1) plaintiff failed to provide direct evidence of a causal link between any discriminatory bias against him and his discharge; 2) plaintiff failed to show that his discharge was not based on defendant's good faith belief that he committed the misconduct justifying his discharge; 3) plaintiff failed to prove he was discharged in retaliation for activity protected under Title VII; and 4) plaintiff failed to prove he was discharged in retaliation for exercising his First Amendment free speech rights as the speech he pointed to in support of his claim was motivated by private concerns.
