United States Eighth Circuit

US v. Martinez, 08-2374

Sentence for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of a substance containing methamphetamine is affirmed where: 1) the district court did not clearly err in assessing a statutory sentencing enhancement for firearms possession as the defendant's possession of the firearm was related to the underlying drug offense; and 2) the district court's brief explanation for the application of statutory sentencing guidelines was sufficient to meet procedural requirements.
