United States Eighth Circuit

US v. Myers, 06-3252, 06-3581

Defendant's convictions and sentence for mailing threatening communications are affirmed over claims of error that: 1) the district court violated his Sixth Amendment right to self-representation by denying a continuance; 2) it erred in admitting evidence of other wrong acts; 3) it should have held evidentiary hearings on his motions for a new trial; 4) the evidence was not sufficient to support the conviction; and 5) the sentence was unreasonable, as argued by the government.
