United States Eighth Circuit

In a 42 U.S.C. section 1983 action contending the absence of a prison library or an attorney to perform legal research violated plaintiff's right of meaningful access to the courts, a judgment holding the defendants liable is reversed and the judgment vacated as plaintiff failed to prove he suffered an actual injury as a result of the contract-attorney system in place at a penitentiary.
