United States Eighth Circuit

Denial of a petition for writ of habeas corpus from murder convictions is affirmed where: 1) a claim of "actual bias" on the part of the trial judge was procedurally barred; 2) state courts' rulings with respect to the cross-examination of witnesses at trial, as well as limiting defendant's testimony, were not unreasonable applications of clearly established federal law.
