United States Eighth Circuit

Matrix Group Ltd., Inc. v. Rawlings Sporting Goods Co., 05-4345, 06-1033

In a breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, and tortious interference suit arising from Rawlings Sporting Goods Company's termination of an agreement granting an exclusive license to plaintiff to sell its sports bags, an order of the district court striking plaintiff's damages for the license's terminal value is reversed as the methodology plaintiff's expert used to calculate the value was an accepted method and was not the product of speculation. The judgment in favor of plaintiff is affirmed in all other respects.
