United States Eighth Circuit

US v. Vasquez-Garcia, 05-2735

A sentence for illegal reentry after deportation is affirmed where the district court did not err in looking at charging documents, as opposed to defendant's offered police reports, to determine whether defendant's state court conviction qualified as a "firearms offense" for purposes of a sentencing enhancement under the guidelines.
