United States Eighth Circuit

US v. Lopez, 04-2254

For purposes of the quantum of evidence necessary to connect an individual to a conspiracy, a defendant may be convicted for even a minor role in a conspiracy, so long as the government proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he or she was a member of the conspiracy. The so-called "slight evidence rule" is rejected.
