SHADE v. CITY OF FARMINGTON, 01-2487

Search of an individual student based on a perceived rule violation is governed by New Jersey v. T.L.O., 469 U.S. 325, and the search of a student seen in possession of a knife was lawful thereunder. Officer who performed the search was entitled to qualified immunity.
