United States Seventh Circuit

Hatfield v. Barr, 18‐2385

Held that the government may constitutionally prohibit convicted felons from possessing guns, even if their offense was nonviolent. The plaintiff who raised this Second Amendment challenge had been convicted of a fraud crime. Reversed the district court, which had issued its ruling prior to the circuit's recent decision in Kanter v. Barr.
