United States Seventh Circuit
West v. Louisville Gas and Electric Co., 18-1906
Dismissed an appeal because there was an improper attempt to manufacture appellate jurisdiction. To create the appearance of a final judgment, the plaintiff-appellant had conditionally dismissed his claims against one defendant so that he could pursue an appeal against a second defendant. The Seventh Circuit concluded that there was actually no final judgment.
