United States Seventh Circuit

Gaston v. Ghosh, 17-3618

Held that a prison inmate who alleged deliberate indifference toward his medical needs could not proceed with his lawsuit against a private company that provides medical care in Illinois state prisons. Affirming a summary judgment ruling, the Seventh Circuit found it unnecessary to reach an important issue relating to the applicability of the Monell standard.
