United States Seventh Circuit

Miller v. Downey, 17-1507

Held that there was no need to decide whether a jail could constitutionally prohibit inmates from receiving any newspapers. There were narrower grounds for resolving the present case, which involved whether an inmate had a right to subscribe to the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin to help him with his legal case. Vacated and remanded for further proceedings.
