United States Seventh Circuit
US v.Taylor, 08-3648
Conviction of defendant for possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute it is affirmed where: 1) the initial stop of the vehicle and the questioning of defendant were proper, as it was based on probable cause to believe that he had committed a traffic offense; 2) the seizure was reasonable in duration between the initiation and defendant's consent; and 3) the subjective motivations of the agents are irrelevant to the Fourth Amendment analysis.
