United States Seventh Circuit

Shales v. Gen. Chauffeurs, Sales Drivers and Helpers Local Union No. 330, 07-3342

In an action involving attorney misconduct, district court's grant of defendant's motion for sanctions against plaintiff's attorney and order for plaintiff's attorney to pay attorney's fees is affirmed where: 1) the plaintiff's attorney acted in bad faith; and 2) the amount of damages for plaintiff's attorney's bad conduct depends on the injury rather than his wealth and thus his alleged inability to pay does not affect the appropriate award.
