United States Seventh Circuit
US v. Evans, 05-1091
Conviction for violations of the federal securities laws is affirmed over defendant's contentions that: 1) as a tippee, he could not be convicted since the tipper was acquitted; 2) the district court gave an erroneous jury instruction on insider trading counts; 3) evidence was erroneously admitted; and 4) without the insider trading convictions his tender offer convictions could not stand.
