United States Seventh Circuit

Matlaw v. Seymour, 06-2502

Attorney's appeal of a settlement agreement between litigants in a housing discrimination dispute is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction where attorney appeals of district court orders are limited to orders imposing monetary sanctions, and the effective loss of attorney's fees as a result of the district judge's order did not constitute monetary sanctions so as to confer jurisdiction. Defendants' motion for sanctions against the attorney is denied.
