United States Seventh Circuit

In a case involving an innocent man's murder in order to fake the death of a defendant in a criminal case, conviction of an assistant to the plot for violation of 18 U.S.C. section 1512(a)(1)(C), a statute entitled "Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant," is affirmed where the murder victim does not have to be a witness or an informant for a violation of the statute to occur.
