United States Seventh Circuit

Christensen v. County of Boone, 04-4162

In a suit alleging violation of the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments and various torts arising out of a deputy sheriff's alleged harassment, dismissal of plaintiff's complaint is affirmed where the plaintiffs failed to state a claim on the federal issues, but reversed where the plaintiffs sufficiently plead the state law claims. The state law claims are remanded for the district court to relinquish supplemental jurisdiction so that the claims can be resolved in state court.
