United States Seventh Circuit

Brewer v. Bd. of Trs. of the Univ. of Illinois, 06-1259

Summary judgment for defendant-university in a discrimination suit by a former student is affirmed where, although the plaintiff presented evidence that could permit a reasonable jury to conclude that his academic career failed for reasons other than his academic merit, he did not present evidence that the university did not take reasonable steps to avoid the effect of alleged racism or otherwise violated federal civil rights law.
