Fane v. Locke Reynolds, LLP, 06-2200

In a racial discrimination suit by a paralegal against her employer under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and 42 U.S.C. section 1981, summary judgment for defendant is affirmed where: 1) plaintiff did not produce any evidence from which a jury reasonably could conclude that her workload was heavier than that of her co-workers; 2) plaintiff offered no evidence that defendant's explanation of her lower starting salary and lower raises relative to other employees was pretextual; 3) plaintiff offered insufficient evidence about whether she was meeting the firm's legitimate expectations; and 4) plaintiff did not identify similarly situated individuals.
