United States Seventh Circuit

U.S. v. Demaree, 05-4213

Sentence for wire fraud and tax violations is affirmed where the switch from sentencing guidelines in force when the crime was committed to stricter guidelines under which the defendant was sentenced did not violate the ex post facto clause since the clause should apply only to laws and regulations that bind rather than advise.
