United States Seventh Circuit
CUYLER v. US, 03-2298
Naval hospital employees had no Illinois common-law tort duty running to plaintiff's child, fatally injured by a babysitter after they failed to report abuse suffered by that babysitter's previous charge. The Illinois abuse-notification statute did not create such a duty either.
