VISION FIN. GROUP, INC. v. MIDWEST FAMILY MUT. INS. CO., 03-1154

Though stolen computer equipment was covered property under the policy issued by defendant, the "false pretense" and "dishonesty" policy exclusions are applicable. Plaintiff voluntarily parted with the equipment when it leased it to a motel and it was induced to do so by the motel president's fraudulent scheme; the loss was caused by the dishonest act of the president of the motel to which plaintiff entrusted the equipment.
