United States Seventh Circuit

REYNOLDS v. CITY OF CHICAGO, 00-3771, 00-3768

In a suit by white police officers challenging, on equal protection grounds, the promotion of minority officers pursuant to an affirmative action plan, judgment for the city was proper where the plan remedied clear past discrimination, and the amount of promotions was modest and necessary based on department needs.
