United States Seventh Circuit

US v. JEFFRIES, 00-2373

Rule 11 does not require a judge to advise a defendant that if he does not plead guilty but instead went to trial and was then convicted, his conviction could be appealed, and trial counsel is not ineffective for failing object to the validity of the plea on that basis.
