United States Seventh Circuit

ANDERSON v. STERNES, 99-4246

A witness who testifies that he is a "gang specialist" does not improperly influence a jury where he does not characterize defendant as a gang member, or the crime as gang-related, and a passing reference to defendant's prior arrest record does not produce a significant likelihood that an innocent defendant was convicted.
