US v. MIJANGOS, 00-3104

A four-level upward adjustment under USSG 3B1.1(a) was appropriate where was a "leader" or "organizer" of a counterfeit check-cashing scheme for which he was convicted under 18 USC 2 and 2314 where the record demonstrated that defendant played an active role in organizing and perpetuating the scam by recruiting others group to entice newly arrived illegal immigrants into cashing counterfeit checks.
