United States Sixth Circuit
Petty v. County of Franklin, 06-3552
In a 42 U.S.C. section 1983 case arising from plaintiff-inmate's injuries in a jail fight and the alleged failure of defendants to protect him or provide him adequate medical care, dismissal of plaintiff's claims is affirmed where: 1) plaintiff could not identify the officials responsible for Eight Amendment violations; 2) the official he properly named was too far removed from what transpired to be liable under section 1983; and 3) with no viable claims against individuals, his suit against the county failed.
