United States Sixth Circuit

Hollins v. Methodist Healthcare, Inc., 05-6301

In an action against a former employer claiming that her termination as a resident in the hospital's Clinical Pastoral Education program violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), dismissal of plaintiff's claim is affirmed where the district court properly found that it lacked of subject matter jurisdiction over the claim under the constitutional "ministerial exception" to the enforcement of employment discrimination laws.
