United States Sixth Circuit
Fortis Corporate Ins. v. Viken Ship Mgmt., 05-3792
In a maritime shipping case, dismissal of an insurer's case seeking recovery for damages allegedly caused by negligence and breach of bailment obligations involving rust damage to a cargo of steel coils is reversed where the district court erred in ruling that it lacked personal jurisdiction over defendants, Norwegian companies that own and manage a fleet of ocean-going cargo vessels.
