United States Sixth Circuit

Defendants unsuccessfully appeal their sentences, resulting from convictions for kidnapping, assault, and the use of a firearm during a crime of violence. The use of U.S.S.G. section 2A3.1 to enhance a sentence for kidnapping is appropriate. An upward departure of three levels based on U.S.S.G. section 5K2.8, based on extreme conduct, was also appropriate.
