HARRIS v. CARTER, 02-3114

A habeas petitioner was presumptively denied his Sixth Amendment right to counsel when the state trial court failed to inquire as to whether trial counsel had a conflict of interest after being so informed, and petitioner is entitled to automatic reversal of his conviction.
