Bobby Brown, et al v. Bryan Collier, 14-20249
Terminated consent decree. Texas Department of Criminal Justice sought to terminate an exception to the Prison Litigation Reform Act entered into a consent decree in 1977 that exempted Muslim inmates from the requirement that all religious gatherings in Texas state prisons attended by more than four inmates be supervised. The Appeals court held that the consent decree does not remain necessary to correct violations of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, the Free Exercise Clause of the Establishment Clause.
