United States Fifth Circuit
Maria S. v. Garza, 17-40873
Held that U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were not liable for violating the due process rights of an undocumented alien whom they allegedly coerced into agreeing to voluntarily repatriate to Mexico despite her fears, shortly after which she was killed. Affirmed summary judgment against her representatives' claims, declining to recognize a Bivens remedy in this new context.
