United States Fifth Circuit

Smith v. School Board of Concordia Parish, 17-30548

Held that a charter school violated the terms of a longstanding desegregation order in the public-school district where it was located by enrolling student bodies that were more than 80 percent white, which was far higher than the white enrollment in the school district overall. Affirmed that the charter school breached the terms of a consent decree that it voluntarily entered.
