United States Fifth Circuit
Carillo v. Louisiana Ins. Guar. Ass'n, 08-30359
In a suit by an injured worker, judgment enforcing a twenty percent additional sum for late payment of an award is affirmed where filing a compensation order starting the ten-day time period for payment does not need to include receipt of the order by the parties, and a Louisiana statute did not exempt the defendant from paying the twenty percent additional amount.
