United States Fifth Circuit

US v. Brown, 05-20997

Court affirms convictions and sentences of pharmacists who filled illegitimate prescriptions for narcotic painkillers as part of a "script mill" conspiracy, where government had amassed overwhelming testimonial and documentary evidence to support the convictions. Two counts were reversed as to two defendants because government conceded it had failed to offer sufficient evidence in support of those particular charges.
