Elsensohn v. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, 07-30693

In an action claiming alleged interference with, restraint, and denial of plaintiff's rights under the Family Medical Leave Act, dismissal of the claims is affirmed where: 1) plaintiff did not meet the criteria set forth in statutory provisions because he did not allege that he provided information of any kind in connection with an inquiry or proceeding relating to his wife's claim, nor did he allege that he was discriminated against as a result of testimony he gave or was about to give; and 2) the circuit court refuses to expand the protection of the FMLA to relatives and friends of FMLA complainants.
