US v. Hawley, 06-50510
A conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm is affirmed over challenges to the district court's admission of certain evidence and application of the Armed Career Criminal Act (ACCA). Defendant's California conviction for grand theft from a person in violation of section 487(2) of the California Penal Code was a "violent felony" as defined in 18 U.S.C. section 924(e)(2)(B)(ii).
