United States Fifth Circuit
Richardson v. Joslin, 06-10104
Grant of habeas relief on petitioner's challenge to a denial of a sentence reduction by the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is reversed since, because petitioner has no liberty interest in a sentence reduction, and the BOP had discretion to consider the full nature of the crime and determine his eligibility, there was no due process violation in the denial despite an understanding that petitioner would be eligible for a reduction in his sentence should he successfully complete a Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program.
