US v. LeBlanc, 06-30331

Denial of a motion to suppress in a prosecution for possession of a firearm by a felon is affirmed where: 1) Louisiana's probation statutes and regulations are constitutional as reasonable guidelines for implementing the "special needs" of the state's system for supervising probationers for purposes of their rehabilitation and the community's protection; and 2) a probation officer's home visit and the plain view seizure at issue complied with state guidelines and with the Fourth Amendment.
