United States Fifth Circuit

US v. Thompson, 06-40961

A conviction for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base is affirmed over claims that: 1) prosecutorial statements during closing argument were so prejudicial that they denied him a fair trial; and 2) allowing the jury to view a videotape of a drug transaction in which defendant allegedly participated was error because it was played to the jury without the accompanying audio portion, albeit a written transcript of the underlying audio recording scrolled along the screen with the video.
