United States Fifth Circuit

St. Aubin v. Quarterman, 05-40277

Denial of habeas relief on a conviction for murder and additional offenses is affirmed where a state-habeas court's decision -- that defendant's lead trial counsel was not ineffective at the trial's punishment phase for either his investigation of, or decision not to present, mitigating evidence concerning his mental-health history -- was not erroneous under the AEDPA's highly deferential standard of review.
