18 U.S.C. section 3624(b) unambiguously directs how good-conduct credits for prisoner sentences are to be calculated and applied, and does not indicate that credit should be retroactively applied to reduce each "year" the prisoner serves from 365 to 311 days; thus, grant of habeas corpus relief to petitioner is reversed.
